Rick Hagmayer, PE - Founder & Principal Engineer
I founded this company with a simple belief: clients deserve an engineer who treats every project like it's their own investment.
For more than 15 years, I've worked in land development and civil engineering, helping clients transform ideas into successful projects. Throughout my career, I've worked as both a consulting civil engineer and a real estate developer, giving me a unique perspective on what it takes to move projects from concept to completion.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech and have spent my career designing residential communities, commercial developments, renewable energy facilities, and public infrastructure. My experience includes due diligence, site planning, grading design, drainage, utility design, roadway engineering, hydraulic modeling, permitting, and project management.
A Different Perspective
Engineer. Developer. Project Owner.
I've worked on both sides of the table. As both a civil engineer and a developer, I've guided projects from the initial concept and due diligence through design, permitting, construction, and final municipal acceptance. That experience allows me to deliver engineering solutions that are practical, cost effective, and designed to succeed in the real world, not just on paper.
As a developer, I wasn't simply designing infrastructure. I was responsible for getting projects built. I worked directly with contractors, coordinated with municipalities, managed construction budgets and schedules, resolved challenges in the field, and saw projects through every stage of construction.
Because of that experience, I understand the entire lifecycle of a development project. I've evaluated raw land, navigated the entitlement process, prepared construction drawings, supported contractors during construction, coordinated inspections, and completed final walk throughs with municipalities before public improvements were accepted.
When I prepare engineering plans, I don't just ask, "Will this meet code?" I also ask:
Can this be built efficiently?
Will it reduce construction costs?
Will contractors clearly understand the design intent?
Will municipalities review and accept it with minimal revisions?
Will it minimize problems during construction?
I believe the best engineering isn't about creating the most complicated solution. It's about finding the right solution. Good engineering balances technical excellence, constructability, cost, schedule, and long term performance.
Throughout my career, I've led multidisciplinary engineering teams, managed millions of dollars in development projects, maintained long term client relationships, and consistently delivered successful projects. Whether it's a small commercial development, a residential subdivision, a renewable energy facility, or public infrastructure improvements, my goal remains the same: provide practical engineering that helps clients move forward with confidence.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children, mountain biking, skiing, camping, and exploring the outdoors.
When you work with me, you're not handed off to layers of project managers or waiting days for a callback. You'll work directly with the engineer responsible for your project from beginning to end. I believe the best relationships are built on responsiveness, transparency, and delivering on commitments.
Whether you're evaluating a property, navigating entitlements, designing infrastructure, or taking a project from concept through final municipal acceptance, I'd welcome the opportunity to help make your project successful.
